A new partnership announced between The Weather Group and recommendation service Yelp looked provide Local Now users with recommendations, reviews, images, and videos of the best local restaurants and bars in their area.
Powered by The Weather Channel television network and content partners, Local Now delivers real-time, localized information about current events, weather, lifestyle, sports, business, and traffic to hundreds of markets across the U.S. Through this new partnership with Yelp, Local Now users will have a fun and easy way to discover the best businesses in their neighborhood.

Yelp has joined a list of content partners that include The Associated Press, Reuters, Tribune Content Agency, Cheddar and others to Local Now across OTT, mobile and linear TV platforms.

The partnership will allow users to discover new, top-rated dining locations in their area. Chad Richard, Yelp’s senior vice president of business and corporate development for Yelp added. “With more than 155 million local reviews, Yelp is in a great position to help Local Now viewers discover the best local businesses.”
Local Now, which was part of the Byron Allen purchase of The Weather Channel in March, had also struck a deal with Michelin earlier this year as the inaugural partner of the hyper-local streaming service’s OTT launch.
